The Rideau Centre one of Ottawa's premiere malls is a five to ten minute walk from the Chateau Laurier Hotel, the American Embassy, Parliament Hill, the National Arts Centre and the National Gallery. Some of the services provided at the Rideau centre are:

  • Fresh produce and market deli court.
  • Major hub along the OC Transpo transitway.
  • Easy access to STO across Rideau Street.
  • 1588 parking spaces in the surface lot off Besserer Street.
  • Two parking garages can be accessed at Nicholas and Daly Streets.
  • Wheelchairs, walkers and strollers can be rented at the customer service center on the second level in center court, adjacent to Tip Top Tailors.
  • Elevators at both the midpoint and north end of the mall.
  • Three shopping levels with a spectacular variety of stores, services and a movie theatre.
  • Above photo shows the Rideau Center, open from 9:30 am to 9:00 pm weekdays, Saturdays from 9:30 am to 6:00 pm and Sundays from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm.

The Rideau Centre ( www.rideaucentre.net ) located at 50 Rideau Street at Sussex Drive, just a block away from Ottawa's bustling Byward Market, the Rideau Centre could be aptly referred to as the city's neighborhood shopping mall. Frequented by visitors and locals alike, the Rideau Centre offers shops and services to satisfy almost any need or whim. Tourists might enjoy checking out the latest fashions at Club Monaco, Guess or Mexx, or picking up a souvenir at the Ottawa store on the second floor, while city natives may simply choose to stop by HMV for a new CD or pick up a bottle of wine at the LCBO on their way home from work.

If you are on a serious shopping mission and need a quick refueling, the food court on the lower level is the place to satisfy a craving for sushi or fill up on an Italian calzone and be on your way again in less than twenty minutes. For something a little more café-inspired, Movenpick's is always busy serving up international fare on the main level.
